The Respiratory System

The respiratory system consists of two lungs covered by the rib cage along with the respiratory passage. It permits the exchange of air between the internal human body and the external environment through regular movements of the thorax, ventilation. Gas exchange occurs when blood passes through the alveoli and each organ by a physical phenomenon called diffusion.
How does breathing maintain the gas exchange between the body and the environment? How does this gas exchange occur?

  1. breathing maintains gas exchange by the inspiration of O2 and the expiration of CO2, and this exchange occurs through the lungs containing alveolies, which assure the diffusion of gases throughout the organs.
